TOPIC: S-Gear 2.9 Standalone ASIO devices selection bug

S-Gear 2.9 Standalone ASIO devices selection bug 9 months 3 days ago #20817

Hi,

First of all, congrats on the release of 2.9. Finally my eyes can enjoy S-Gear on 4K display and you have a solid foundation for the hopefully bright future of S-Gear.

Now to the issue:
I have two ASIO devices in the system: 1 - my main playback-only DAC, 2 - my guitar interface (IK AXE I/O)

For some reason in the standalone app in the driver selection combo box the devices are mixed up.
When i select my DAC (Combo384 ASIO 1.03) my AXE I/O is being used and vice versa.
Registry also stores the actual device:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Scuffham Amps\S-Gear2\AudioDevice = AXE IO ASIO
I've attached two screenshots with each device selected.

Other ASIO-enabled apps do not exhibit this behaviour.
Running Windows 10 Pro 1909 x64.
Would be happy to provide any other necessary data if needed.

I had similar issues. My interface is a Komplete Audio 6. Selecting that resulted in no sound. I had to edit that registry key to get it to work. After doing that, the selected option is "Guitar Rig Session I/O".

Thanks for the suggestion, in my case i don't have to edit the registry as I'm able to select all interfaces. In the end interface works it's just that the names are mixed up.

@mike: are you able to reproduce this behaviour or is it a kind of heisenbug that's system/config-dependent?

I will try to uninstall and install the driver again to rule out a 'random weird behaviour' case.

Looking to try to re-create this on my system.

Thanks.

Were you able to re-create this behaviour?
