TOPIC: Standalone 2.71 Doubles Buffer Size on Startup

Standalone 2.71 Doubles Buffer Size on Startup 2 weeks 3 hours ago #20502

I am running 2.71 on Windows 10 using a Behringer UMC204HD. I have noticed that, on startup, it always doubles whatever the previous buffer size was. That means that if the buffer is at 512 and I startup S Gear, it sets the buffer to 1024. This is annoying and not a major issue, but still a bug. Don't know if it is specific to my interface, but figured I would mention it.

I've not come across this problem before. S-Gear doesn't set the buffer size on an ASIO device. The device reports whatever buffer size is configured and S-Gear goes with that. Usually you set the buffer size via an ASIO control panel which can be opened from S-GEAR, but is part of the device's ASIO driver.

I would see if there are any ASIO driver updates available from Behringer.

I actually use an UMC404HD and I've never had this issue. I'm on Win10.

I have verified that I have the latest driver for my soundcard. It doesn't seem to happen if I am running the VST in my DAW, only when I go into standalone mode, which is how I practice, for the most part. :??:
