TOPIC: Making an electric bass sound with guitar

Making an electric bass sound with guitar 1 month 1 week ago #23716

Hi, I really do not want nor need to purchase a bass. I would like to achieve a bass sound with my electric guitar. Do you guys have any vst effects that you recommend that will give me an authentic sounding bass sound via my electric guitar. I can figure out amp configuration and filtering etc. But any recommend pitch shifting pedals via vst? Thanks!

If you record the bass part on the guitar at normal pitch into your DAW you can then drop it down an octave. In Cubase if you select the audio then transpose -12 it works pretty convincingly. Only catch is you cannot hear it at the lower pitch when recording.

That ^
A felt or rubber pick helps too, plus string dampening as needed.

I'm using kilo harts pitch shifter with ampeg.
Sounds pretty good however, at times it's a bit granular.
I think with an excellent pitch shifter plugin my effect could be achieved.
