TOPIC: Presets by amp type

Presets by amp type 1 year 3 months ago #23426

Hi everyone,

I don't use normally presets, so I'm not really sure about this, but I think on previous sgear versions, 2.7 and below, there was a way to see the presets organized by amp type.
Isn't this possible any more ?

Thanks!

Hi Jaime, the concept of Banks changed with v2.9. Now, each bank is an entire set of 128 Presets, whereas previously in v2.7, each bank was a mapping onto ten presets and we included some selections, one for each amp.

With v2.9 it would be quite easy to create a Bank for each amp and organise your Presets that way.

I also find it hard to find the way around with the factory presets. Would be great if they could be sorted (possibly with tags) after
a) amp
b) typical music style
c) close to specific guitar player / band sound

As a workaround in the right direction I now have prefixed the factory settings with the character of the amp

1. W American Clean
2. S Blue Claptonite
3. ....

That helps a bit.

I think the order of the factory presets have been chosen in such a way that one can quickly demo different sound by starting from the first and then going to the following presets. This would be nice for a tradeshow / shop demo mode.

For a user an order which relates to music styles and / or amps would be much more usefull IMO.
