I found this for PC users.

It will work on Mac, as well, as JACK is a cross-platform application: gigperformer.com/how-to-set-up-live-stre...mer-and-jack-router/

I tried everything with Loopback and gave-up about capturing my preferred S Gear presets.

I will try the day I see a complete and easy video or written description about doing it on a MAC.

I think at 67 I am now too old to try things just for the challenge of doing it :-)

However I would really love to be able to capture these presets because I do not have a portable MAC
Thanks for the link.

If your interface has virtual ins/outs (many do) you don't need any Rogue Amoeba software. Read my previous message in this thread for the connections. Below is a screenshot. In the example, Apollo Twin interface Virtual 1 (send to rig) is the input for S-Gear. Virtual 2 is the output from S-Gear to Tonex. (S-Gear is the diagram's blue amp and grey cabinet.) My example is mono, but stereo (two mic configuration) works too. Play with the levels until you get it right.

I've been using some of Amalgam Audio's vintage amp captures for Tonex. They are the best I've found...

Oh! I'm sorry, then. I tried making things work using Loopback and Audio Hijack, and was never successful. I gave up in frustration, though I'm sure that it will work if things are all correct. I'm sorry I can't help. I also tried using Gig Performer, but the plug-in version of Tonex doesn't support Capture.

Well at least I am not alone. I tried the same thing and nothing worked. Thanks for trying to help.

At what stage is the roadblock occuring? Does Tonex not see the Loopback ports? Is audio simply not passing through the ports?

I was able to get virtual connections working a couple years ago (on a computer I can't currently reference, unfortunately) but it involved an additional app to get all ins and outs connected. I'll try to recall what exactly I was doing and what software was being used. Audio Hijack was certainly one of them.

It seems that Loopback does not re route the Signal to S Gear for a capture. The only thing I was able to do is a clean capture of my signal.

I might be able to try with an Apollo X interface. My friend has one and I will probably borrow next time he travels.

FYI, learning how to use the UAD Console (software that controls the ins/outs of Apollo) is the key to mastering the hardware. Read the manual, look for youtube videos, etc.

Here is the settings I took to capture using LOOPBACK 2 and GIG PERFORMER. You do not hear your own guitar but when your input settings are set the right way (No clipping) It works very well .To hear the sounds that will be capture you select the arrow (Player) and adjust your level(s) accordingly. You have to set-up LOOPBACK 2 as your Audio Interface. Thanks to TheSchwartz on TGP for posting the way to do it in mono settings.
