Interesting indeed. It may be worth upgrading my Studio One for this because their first few iterations left were mediocre at best.

As a Studio One 4 Pro owner, if the new amp emulations and stomps are decent, which they seem to be, I'll have practically no reason left to upgrade to 2.9 and even less to pay for a new program if v. 3.0 ever comes out.

For the first time I'm feeling to have "missed the boat"... sorry!

I've just upgraded to v. 4.6. If they sound as good as they look, Presonus got'emselves a winner!

I'll post more comments once I get sufficiently acquianted with'em. ;)

I'm currently jamming with the Clean American with a touch of delay and it's quite tasty!! The upgraded Ampire is a huge improvement in my opinion.

I’ve heard good things about this one too! Seems Presonus upped their game significantly with this version. Also the amps included - Marshall, Vox, Fender Twin, Mesa, Ampeg SVT - cover similar ground as S-Gear (except for the bass amp that is)..

And it’s available as a standalone VST3 plug-in for people not using S1.

Sadly there’s no demo version. So if anyone spent some time with this I would love to hear your opinions on the new Ampire!

Hello,

I recently downloaded a demo of Studio One and found that I was really not all that impressed with the what I found regarding Ampire. Though this critique should not be construed as definitive - I must admit that I was disappointed in that the comments that I was seeing was not in any way related to what I was actually hearing.

S-Gear is still a much better alternative in my book.

Played with it a little bit more. It's just not a versatile and S-Gear is and even though the sound I was getting is a huge improvement over the previous version, IMHO it's still not close to what I get through S-Gear.
YMMV
