TOPIC: S-Gear v3.0 is now available

S-Gear v3.0 is now available 9 months 4 weeks ago #23922

The best amp sim even got better! Thank you very much for the drive thru pedal, it adds a nice color to every amp, and I really look forward to try this out in detail.
Regarding pedals I'd love to have a compressor, a EQ (like Boss GE-7), and some kind of (auto)-wah pedal that is controllable via MIDI.

Thanks again!

Compressor for funk etc (I don’t use one often but it’s certainly useful to have access to) one. It’d be cool if it had a mix option so you can blend the compressed and uncompressed signal.

An octave would also be nice-to-have.

More drive pedals with different characters would also be cool (though I confess I haven’t explored the range of what’s possible with the existing one). I tend towards bluesbreaker.

Fuzz and univibe would also be cool.

I am a recent convert to amp sims. I have tried a few and I find S-Gear absolutely brilliant and I’m very grateful for how good the presets are. The manual is also really thoughtfully put together. There’s a lifetime of exploring just in S-Gear 3.

Thanks for your work.

Another great update - thanks Mike. I especially appreciate that all the core stuff still works the same way while accommodating the new functionality we got in the last few updates.

I've been using S-Gear for years and have been able to avoid buying pedals. thanks Mike.
I have been using S-Gear in hosted in Ableton to add VST pedal support but would prefer to simplify the rig and just use the S-Gear app. here's my list of go to pedal categories (no specific versions)

Great to see support for pedals in 3.0.2. Here's my wishlist:

1. Octaver - basic pitch shift
2. Univibe - add tremolo to any amp
3. EQ
4. Reverb like Valhalla (they have a cool / free VST)
5. Stereo Expander (I like Wider)

Are you planning on providing an SDK for plugin devs to use to support S-Gear?

Thank you, Mike, for v3, and for the generous upgrade policy!

FYI, I only learned of v3 (belatedly) because I happened to check the web site; I didn't get an announcement email. I don't recall ever unsubscribing to the newsletter, but it appears I haven't gotten one in over a year. I went ahead and resubscribed via my account settings. Hopefully this isn't an issue that's affected many others.

+1 for a Rangemaster style Treble Booster. Also a MXR type Phase pedal like EVH used and a Keeley-like compressor pedal.

Long awaited best amp sim on the market if you ask me. A Treble Booster would be a nice complement for May/Iommi kind of tone, please consider it for future pedals developing (if not already on the way...).
Can't wait to install the update.

No amp sim suite is complete without a metal zone :) Really, everyone's already suggested everything. To the point about a gate between the preamp and the amp, you can make knobs available for the envelope follower's settings (sidechain from amp input). Of course, I trust you to find the right settings but it seems like an opportunity for user tweaking. The gate's insertion point can be toggled from the existing gate interface area with a small carrot dropdown for messing with the envelope follower’s settings. Even a fast/slow switch might be interesting or a variable control similar to sag.

Same for me.

Well, as fate would have it this morning I finally ... bought the bx_greendrive to use with S-Gear 2.9. This afternoon I thought "I wonder when S-Gear 3 will be out?". LOL. I guess I should have checked Scuffham's site first.

Thanks Mike. No matter what I try from the competition I always come back to S-Gear.

If love to see a germanium fuzz (I build lots of pedals and good germanium just keeps getting harder to find), something like a Boss OC-5, and a booster like the Naga viper. Ooh, and an EP-3 preamp 😄

We need a rangemaster . . in front of the AC30!! Ok, I could settle just for the AC-30. Ok, sorry I know this is not an amp request :P I'll go roll up my cables now. Thanx for the amazing s-gear - love it :good job: :rock out:

I'm sure are a ton of pedals that would be great but really, for me, I think I'd get solid use out of a good fuzz pedal and a compressor. I can see myself using other stuff like an octaver once in a blue moon, but the other two would be permanent fixtures in my set up.

Some essential pedals would be great. What I'd like to see more than anything in the future, though, would be a bass amp. Some sort of twisted fusion of a B-15N and SVT. A Mike creation. Perfect for studio blending.
