Hi all,
just want to say that I really enjoy the upgrade and like to encourage everybody who might hesitate or does not see the big value for that small fee. Actually I just paid the reasonable upgrade fee after the trial period and don´t complain that I bought my first license just a couple of weeks before January 2018.
The scalable GUI is really helpful and nice.
First I did not see the benefits of the improved Preset management system but after trying I enjoy the ease and comfort. (It might be even more useful for those using MIDI and for future upgrades.)
"Single Click Load" is great if you want to browse the Presets via the arrow keys!
The Redwirez Remastered IRs are nice, the one I use in my favorite Preset sounds much fatter to my ears.
Looking forward to activate even one more machine on the go, it´s great to have a maximum of three licenses.
And thanks again to Mike, who helped me solve an installation issue (caused by my dual monitor configuration) by answering within a couple of hours. Great support.
One thing money can´t buy is the inspiration and fun you get by playing your amps and software. With S-Gear I play way more often than I did before (using Tubeamps, Attenuators, Di into Logic).
It´s just so easy to use the Standalone App with Logic, iTunes, BiaB and get a sounds that blend well with any playback or jamtrack (thanks to the useful no-nonsense presets, the delay and reverb).
My favorite playing style needs dynamic response, a fine gain structure and the touch and feel of an amp at breakup. (My favorite is The Duke, by the way.) S-Gear delivers that IMHO better than any software I tried.
A last word about the 29$ to those hesitating or complaining: just consider the upgrade fee as some kind of crowd funding as well. Remember, were talking about a small company, a brave guy who has the skills, endurance and dedication to develop excellent tools for us guitarists and gives great support within a couple of hours.
I like (and more importantly daily enjoy) the App as is but want to support Mike to compensate for his work now in order to enable him to continue.
So Mike, thanks a lot and keep on keeping´on.
