TOPIC: S-GEAR and MAC OSX 10.12 Sierra

S-GEAR and MAC OSX 10.12 Sierra 7 years 1 week ago #14429

Greetings folks,

RE: OSX 10.12 Sierra

Apple has rolled out the next release of OSX. As always on a new OSX release, we've done some initial testing using the latest build of S-GEAR (v2.57) both as standalone and with Logic X and Cubase. Everything looks to be working correctly.

S-GEAR support for 10.12 won't become official until we have made a full test cycle. In the meantime if you are considering the update, do check that your audio interface drivers and your preferred DAW software is supported. If you encounter any problems with S-GEAR, please contact us via support.

Best wishes,
Mike

Any brave early adopters out there? I did see a little stuff on the web about some AU issues.

I have been on Sierra since the beginning of the beta process and there were a few niggles with installation and set up but that was a few versions ago.
For me on Cubase Pro 8.5 and using S Gear as a VST it has been fine throughout although as always there are so many factors especially your audio interface to factor in before deciding what to do.
Within Cubase at least and with a Focusrite 6i6 interface I have no issues running S-Gear, Waves, Native Instruments, Toontrack, Izotope and Softube plugins to date.

Out of interest there is already an update in beta for the first general release so things are changing pretty quickly.

Cheers

Running late 2013 model iMac with Apogee Duet 2.
Upgraded to Sierra, no issue so far. Running smooth.

I had a problem with SlingTV, a patch that was provided by Sling fixed the choppy frame display. I played S-Gear a couple times with a Hiwatt IR, sounded great as always.

Update
I bought a Creative USB MIDI Interface cable. I was hoping I could get a FCB1010 software editor and save myself some tap dancing. It didn't work with 10.12 and Creative describes the cable as "legacy".

I use to participate the public beta program, hence I'm using S-Gear with Sierra for a quite while...and didn't any issue... however I'm not a heavy S-Gear User, but still use S-Gear from time to time.

I have a iMac 27 late 2013 equiped with Focusrite 2i2
