I would purchase it today however I use Pro Tools 10 (not HD or anything..just regular Pro Tools) and apparently you do not have RTAS included in the download??

I would use the VST to RTAS wrapper once purchased however there is slim to no information about whether or not that will work. One poster on a random forum suggested that he tried it and it would only let him load the plugin in stereo mode?

So I guess if you can't make RTAS included in the $99 download then PLEASE provide some info on whether the VST to RTAS wrapper will work before I spend $99 on something I can't use but want!!

Thanks!!!! ]]>

Need your help.
I don't have much experience with actual tube amps.

Now for the first time there is an amp manufacturer in India who is building supposedly high quality hand wired tube amps to make it affordable. Given the customs & duties, tube amps from major manufacturers are ridiculously expensive here.

www.be3amplifiers.com/index.html

Can you check out their site, see/hear the demos and post your thoughts?
I am not sure that only by going through the site it is possible to get a proper perspective, but if you can please let me know.

Thanks a lot]]>

Subject: S-Gear demo writing info to MBR ? - by: mitebuster http://www.scuffhamamps.com/forum/6-general-discussion/4738-s-gear-demo-writing-info-to-mbr-?limit=6&start=6#4738 http://www.scuffhamamps.com/forum/6-general-discussion/4738-s-gear-demo-writing-info-to-mbr-?limit=6&start=6#4738
I wanted to buy after first 5 min period of test but this such a powerful system access is a deal breaker. Any comment?

Edit : I have recovered just the "MBR and TRACK 0" of my previous system image by using "Acronis True image" and S-Gear trial period worked again. After next reboot the period corrupted because of MBR/Track 0 modification.

It is certain that it modifies this area. ]]>

Subject: Advice on getting midi switches in the VST? - by: stubish http://www.scuffhamamps.com/forum/6-general-discussion/4735-advice-on-getting-midi-switches-in-the-vst#4735 http://www.scuffhamamps.com/forum/6-general-discussion/4735-advice-on-getting-midi-switches-in-the-vst#4735 I'm gonna try S-gear for church this weekend. pretty stoked... Have been using guitar rig 5 up till now. Usine pro 5.2 as the host (not ready for hollydeck yet!). 32bit plugins.

I'm running GR5 -> S-gear -> GR5 Presonus Audiobox USB and a FBC1010 (Uno).

Midi CC's are working for GR on both sides and PC's operate as expected.

I was trying to get some of the switches on the stealer mapped to some pedals. I've got CC 1 set to latched, first value is 0 and second is 127. As far as I can tell I've mapped the amp drive switch to this. (latch mode). But no response at this stage.

I tried changing the CC values to 10 and 88 (arbitrary values). No help.

Any advice on where to from here?

Amazing software though. Most fun I've had with a modeler in ages. I've not heard better software. Same league as my buddys AXE at 1/20th of the cost (GR does most of the good effects I'd miss).

Cheers

The audio samples on that page are not the greatest. Here's a clip I did with the Blackhawk in combination with an EV-SRO 12L (another speaker to consider getting IRs for)...

www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.c...&songID=10044814

Just the Blackhawk on this one...

www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.c...1&songID=8839141

Also, you really should check out this new design in cabinets By Forte 3D, for the best of open and closed back features. Check out the Forte 1-12...

www.fortemusical.com/3dcabinets.html

The combination of the WGS Blackhawk and a Forte 1-12 is an ultimate combo.

Thanks for your consideration.

I like metal, but not just metal, lotsa other stuff too including classical, blues and of course, classic rock. And i like my metal really heavy, death & black. And i have my guilty pleasures too, like Kings of Leon & Biffy Clyro. The point is, i really want to keep an open mind.

From another S-gear thread discussing hi gain tones, i came across Meshuggah playing through EZ mix presets.

BUT i didn't like the tone, but more importantly i hated the music.

Here they are teaching their riffs:

but i can't understand what is going on. the polyrhythmic stuff, is it too hard to play? didn't seem much to it. didn't sound appealing either.

Is it like i should listen to their album and give it time to sink it?
should i try the other so called djent bands, periphery and all?

any thoughts?]]>

Mike, how about an EQ module..like you would see on a Mesa Boogie Mark III.

I used to have one of these...great amp...along with a 145 Leslie - great combo.

I use a VST one...but it would be great to have one as part of the rack.

Thanks again for such a great product.]]>

To improve though I would love to see two things:

A really high Quality Fender Twin style amp with stunning clean sounds, tremelo (Stereo) and a Univibe effect. For me, that type of amp coupled with a Tele or Strat is one of the iconic guitar sounds. Sure you could improve on it though

Also I would love a bass amp - one with good definition and a really tight low end, this means S-Gear could be my go to VST for all things guitar.... go on, please!!
